A Nutsche filter is a batch filtration system used for solid–liquid separation under vacuum or pressure.
It consists of a closed vessel with a perforated filter plate at the bottom, which holds a filter medium (cloth, mesh, or porous plate) to retain solids while allowing liquid filtrate to pass.
It can also perform cake washing and drying in the same unit, making it highly efficient for pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and fine chemicals. It is like an “all-in-one” industrial strainer, washer, and dryer for solid-liquid separation.
APPLICATION
Filtration of high-purity chemicals for lithium-ion batteries.
Wastewater treatment, removal of fine solids.
Filtration of catalyst slurries and refining intermediates.
Recovery of precious metal catalysts.
Separation of pesticide and herbicide formulations.
ELEMENTS
Filter Vessel that holds the slurry during filtration.
Filter Plate or perforated plate that supports the filter cloth.
Bottom discharge valve allows dry cake discharge after filtration.
Heating / Cooling Jacket controls temperature for drying or crystallization.
Sight Glass / View Ports for visual inspection.
Nozzles for slurry inlet, wash liquid, gas purging, and vacuum connection.
